“I am a 64 year old type 2 diabetic and prostate cancer survivor who has been dealing with health issues for more than 15 years. Our daughter encouraged us to go on the 90 Day Challenge in January of 2011, but honestly we didn't expect much. We were doing it to support her and didn't take it too seriously. Surprisingly, I lost 25 lbs. on my first 90 Day Challenge. But the other benefits were what really impressed me. When I started my first challenge I was suffering from severe depression and chronic fatigue caused by low testosterone, a side effect of my cancer treatments. I also had sleep apnea, insomnia, gout, stage 3 kidney disease and diabetes. I was taking 13 medications and it was still all I could do to get out of bed in the morning. I was an unhealthy mess! Fast forward to January of this year, just one year later. I no longer have severe depression, or chronic fatigue or gout or sleep apnea. My insomnia and acid reflux have disappeared and my kidney function is also back to normal for my age. Those 13 medications I was taking when we started are now down to 4. I still have my diabetes, but I've eliminated all but one medication, including insulin and my lab tests show me as normal now, not in the diabetic range. I also still have low testosterone, but the side effects that have plagued me for many years are gone.
